As an independent Salesforce architect, here are the apps I use on a daily basis.

1. Scheduling Tool
By now, most of you know of Calendly. It’s great, but I’m still waiting for the feature where you can limit the number of meetings per week. It can do this by day, but not by week.

2. Note Taker
When Evernote went crazy, I jumped ship and bounded around a few note takers. I landed on UpNote, which looks clean and has all the features I need.

3. Informal Communication
Who doesn’t use Slack these days? FYI, I participate in 9 workspaces, 2 of which I own, 2 are clients, and the rest are Salesforce or UX communities.

4. To do List
Here’s another category with many great options. I love TickTick, which Marques Brownlee introduced me to. Todoist was a close second, but TickTick looks better.

5. Automation
Keeping multiple calendars in sync is easier with Make. It’s also less expensive than Zapier.

6. Email List
For these daily emails, I use the paid version of ConvertKit. The paid version offers no ads and better workflows.

7. Meetings & Podcast
Most of my client meetings use the paid version of Zoom. It’s great because I can request control of my clients screen when they are lost. Zoom also doubles as my podcast recorder.

8. Project Management
To manage my Salesforce app development and installation, Trello is the choice. It also works for some clients to track progress. Being visual, I prefer it over Asana.

9. Visualization
Lucidchart is great for designing processes and for data modeling. The perfectionist in me loves how it snaps in placem, aligning boxes vertically and horizontally.

The takeaway
While there are many great options for many areas, keep in mind you want to automate as much as possible, and you want to enjoy using the app.

You may want to re-assess your apps every 6 months, to make sure you’re using the best of breed.
