Whenever data is involved in a Salesforce project, you’ll typically find a Data Architect (DA).

DAs are masters of data. They analyze it, process it, protect it, and make recommendations based on data requirements.

Additional responsibilities include

  • Defining the high-level data approach around governance and deduplication processes
  • Leading the strategy to define and align with architecture around data approach re: migration vs integration.
  • Performing or supporting data mapping analysis, data quality analysis and data dictionary development
  • Supporting the execution of data migration tasks including data loading, unit testing & validation

DAs often have toolkits of useful apps and scripts that help them achieve their goals. They also work with fellow architects to ensure data privacy is properly respected.

Possible certifications include Administrator and Data Architect.
