Unlike most days of the week, I’m more casual on Fridays.

This means booking fewer meetings, being less responsive to emails and chats, and generally winding down the week.

With all the extra time, I’m able to focus on projects that need more dedicated attention, and also work on my business.

As an independent contractor, it’s important not to spend 100% of your time working on projects. Rather, it’s a good idea to set time during the week for things like

  • Updating your 3 – 6 month plan
  • Reviewing your accounting
  • Prospect outreach
  • Keeping warm leads warm
  • Corresponding on LinkedIn

And so on.

The takeaway
To keep your one-person business running smoothly, it’s important to balance current work with attracting future work.
