As a solo Salesforce consultant, the market dictates your maximum hourly rate.

The hourly rate for an experienced consultant is usually between $150 to $200 an hour, which results in approximately $200k to $250k a year.

FYI, I know a Certified Technical Architect (CTA) that charges $300 an hour, which is the highest I’ve seen for a solo consultant.

Now imagine you want to surpass this limit. The most common solution is to start an agency. If you add a fee on top of each consultant’s hourly rate in your agency, you can scale and make more.

One drawback to this approach is you’ll need to spend some amount of time managing these people. And that takes your attention away from what you love to do. And some people would rather not manage anyone’s schedule but their own.

However there are other ways to break this ceiling as a soloist.

What if I told you that for 4 months, I once had an effective rate of $5000 an hour?

To find out how, you’ll need to wait until tomorrow’s email 🙂

The takeaway
Don’t be fooled into believing that starting an agency is the only way to grow your income. There are other options available to you.
