Given where Salesforce is headed, there are some things we can do.
As the title “Salesforce consultant” states, we depend on Salesforce for our livelihood. But we are also consultants.
This means there are a number of needed skills that are independent of Salesforce. Examples are:
- How to manage and negotiate with clients
- How to manage our time and resource
- Our technical and industry knowledge
- Our curiosity and reasoning skills
For a more complete perspective, here’s a mind map of what it takes to be a “good enough” Salesforce consultant.
In case it wasn’t obvious, all of these skills are fully transferable to other domains.
The takeaway
It’s great to be invested in Salesforce, and learn all the technical and functional bits.
Just be sure to spend sufficient time developing your other skills too. They may come in handy sooner than you think.
