This summer has been full of transitions and milestones. So much so that it’s taken its toll.
As a result, I’m listening to myself and taking some more personal time.
Here’s the plan for the coming 2 weeks:
This Sunday, I will join my parents at a lake-site cottage that they’ve rented. It’s a beautiful spot and they’ve been renting this cottage each summer for the last several years. With just the three of us, I’ll be able to spend lots of quality time with them.
I’ll be with them for 5-6 days and then visit another friend I haven’t seen in many years. He has a cottage nearby, so it was an easy decision.
From there, I’ll drive to Boston for Northeast Dreamin, before eventually returning to Montreal.
This means I’ll be away for at least one week, perhaps two.
In the meantime, thanks to everyone who shared nomadic stories and trip suggestions with me. They are greatly appreciated.
The takeaway
As a reminder, it’s OK to take breaks. Unplugging the laptop, putting down the phone, and picking up a good book while admiring a lake feeds the soul.
