Last week Thursday was the Salesforce World Tour in NYC. About 15,000 people attended, along with 300+ partners, and 226+ sessions available. Yes, it was quite overwhelming!
That being said, here are the major points I gleaned from the event:
- Salesforce is bigger than ever. You cannot be expected to keep track of all the moving parts. Yes, you should be aware of the general trends, but not the details. Instead, I recommend picking your corner, planting your flag, and claiming it as your own.
- Salesforce Genie, announced in last year’s Dreamforce, is rebranded as Data Cloud. This name makes more sense, and is easier to understand. At this event, there was a lot of talk about data, using data, and being a “customer company”.
- EinsteinGPT and SlackGPT. No need to elaborate much on this. Expect AI to be integrated as much as possible with as many Salesforce products as possible.
- In the nonprofit space, there were many announcements about the upcoming new Nonprofit Cloud. The interesting news is they are moving fast in making it feature parity with NPSP (Nonprofit Success Pack). In addition, there are many included extras, in part to justify the higher price point after 10 free user licenses.
- We are a community. My biggest observation is so many people are willing and eager to help you, to guide you, and to network. While there is an undertone of business, the need to connect and network with fellow minded individuals was extremely visceral. I felt it in my core.
The takeaway
Salesforce and its community is awesome. It’s truly impressive to see such a huge mountain of people and organizations that are standing on the shoulders of a single, giant company.
