There was more great feedback from another fellow reader. This time, it was related to selecting your Salesforce champion.

I’ll paraphrase, but the question was basically, “what about choosing your champion BEFORE the project starts?”

My reply was: the champion can be picked before the actual project implementation. Look for either

  1. The person that wants the project to succeed the most, or
  2. The person that wants the project to succeed the least

This selection process can happen during the sales calls or during the initial discovery sessions. Either way, you are looking for a leader or someone that can become a leader to their peers.

The takeaway
I’m not saying it’s always going to be easy recruiting a project champion. But I will say that having one or more champions will make the overall project go more smoothly. Happy hunting!
