Aside from writing apex code, AI can be a helpful tool for Salesforce consultants.

Here are a few for your consideration:

Field labels
If you’re ever struggling to come up with a concise name for a field, AI can help.

For example, in a current project in which users complete a form, the answers need to be saved in fields. So I asked AI the following, “I need to save the answer to the question, ‘How long have you lived in Canada?’ in a field. Provide a concise label for this field.”

Formula building
Building formulas, whether for a formula field or in a flow, can be tricky.

For example, in the same form as above, answers to the question “When was your date of birth?” were stored with the format of “01 July 1984”.

So I asked AI the following, “Write a formula to be used in a Salesforce flow to convert a date from the format of ‘dd mmm yyyy’ to ‘yyyy-mm-dd'”.

Formatting data
Reorganizing data around, creating tables from lists, and capitalizing words in a sentence are painfully easy with AI.

For example, imagine your client provides you with an Excel sheet. The first row contains the column headers, and you need to format it so all columns are placed in a single column. Using the prompt “Format these column header into rows: {URL to Google Sheets}”, performs this task in seconds.

The takeaway
If you’re not using AI on a daily or semi-daily basis, you’re missing out on all kinds of time efficiencies.
