Speaking of passwords, do you use a password manager?

It’s amazing to me to see so many Salesforce consultants either reuse the same password in all their client orgs, or use a very basic way of creating a password per client.

Both of these approaches are not secure and are discouraged.

Instead, agencies, partners, and independents are better off using a password manager such as 1Password or Bitwarden.

These managers are awesome because

  • You only need to remember one master password to access it (and it better not be “password123”)
  • They create random, long, and strong passwords for every website or application
  • They securely store notes, identities, and credit card information
  • They work on your browser and mobile phone

FYI, I use Bitwarden and have

  • 621 logins
  • 4 credit cards
  • 4 identities

This means anytime there’s a login that requires your name, address, phone, email, etc., Bitwarden can complete these fields with a single click. The same for credit cards.

The takeaway
If you’re not already using a password manager, strongly consider starting now. In addition to keep your client’s org safer, it saves you time from filled out similar forms and credit card info.
