Here are my takeaways from this year’s Dream Ole in Zaragoza, Spain.

It’s all about Agentforce
Apparently you cannot escape it. It’s not just prevalent in North America, but in Europe too. The opening keynote speaker was a product manager of Agentforce and we had a chance to chat after her presentation. It was interesting to hear her take as a former developer.

All Salesforce MVPs aren’t awesome
In one session, a developer Salesforce MVP presented an example of bad code and then good code. Like bad code would be doing a DML operation within a for loop. However his “good code” wasn’t so good.

He used variable names like accountNameAndAssociatedContactList, which might be the longest name I’ve ever seen. Then spacing wasn’t consistent. Sometimes it was count = 1 or count= 1 or count=1

What this tells me is just because you’re a Salesforce MVP doesn’t mean you write clean code.

You can send and receive WhatsApp messages from Salesforce
This was a new one for me. I didn’t know this was possible and need to explore this further. WhatsApp is not as popular in North America as it is in Europe. Here virtually everyone and all businesses use it to communicate.

The takeaway
Sometimes at smaller smaller dreamin events, you have an opportunity to have deeper conversations with people. Also, they serve beer and wine at European events.
