Depending on your data source and data import frequency, you have various options to load data into Salesforce. Taking a closer look at the one-in-a-while use case, here are some popular (and free) tools:

1. Salesforce Dataloader
The tried and true dataloader. Yes, it takes longer to set up and configure. And yes, the user experience isn’t awesome. But boy can this thing crunch records.

Want to load thousands, tens of thousands, or even millions of records? This powerhouse can handle them like a true professional.

2. Data Import
Built natively into Salesforce, this is my usual recommendation for client use. It’s a relatively straightforward wizard, and allows up to 50,000 records to be imported at once. Great for simple one-offs which require minimal training.

3. MS Excel / Google Sheet Connectors
If your data is already in Excel or Sheets, why bother exporting to .csv and then use one of the above tools? Simply add a SF connector and import directly!

The takeaway
Given your specific use case, there are plenty of great options for loading data into Salesforce. If you’re open to paid options, this list triples.
