An excellent way to keep your good clients connected is to invite them to your Slack workspace.

While email is great for formal communication, Slack is great for quick chats and questions. When you invite a client to Slack, they quickly understand they have significantly better access to you. And this is valuable to them.

After all, not all consultants offer this service. Some could feel it could become too welcoming, as clients may start spamming you with messages.

After years of hosting clients, I can tell you this is rarely the case. Clients are busy too, and they only reach out when there’s a reason to.

In addition, I’m usually more responsive to Slack messages than I am to emails. This is probably because most responses are quick and easy. Emails start feeling heavier by comparison.

The key is also having them join your Slack, as opposed to you joining theirs. Keeping all of your communication close to you keeps you efficient, as you don’t need to jump around various workspaces.

The takeaway
If you’re looking for a differentiator, inviting clients to your Slack workspace can really make you stand out.
