Today was the first ever Dreamin conference in Montreal.

Note: There are two kinds of Salesforce events: those organized by Salesforce themselves, and those organized by Salesforce supporters. Dreamin events are the latter. You can find them all over the globe.

As a sponsor, I was promoting my AppExchange application. The app allows Canadian nonprofits to generate CRA-compliant tax receipts. My colleague and I had a booth, and were able to demo the app and answer questions. The main purpose was to inform people about the app.

As a speaker, I co-hosted a session with Roger Mitchell on how to be an independent Salesforce consultant. This was the 2nd speaking session Roger and I did together. Like the previous session, we spent 10 minutes agreeing on the approach, and then improv’d the rest. It turned out great!

Lots of other great speakers were present. And as usual, these events are great networking opportunities.

This was the first event planned by the organizers, and all things considered, it went quite well. They already plan to organize another one next year. It’s great to see Dreamin events north of the border, as there are so few of them.

The takeaway
As a Salesforce consultant, if you’re not attending at least one Salesforce-hosted or Dreamin conference a year, you’re definitely missing out.
