While I was on vacation recently, a friend of mine joined me. This was a remote location, and my friend had to work. So he brought his laptop.
But he also brought a portable monitor. I must have been living under a rock, because I never knew these things existed!
They are basically extremely light tablets, but are only the screen. You need to plug them into your laptop, usually with a USB-C cable. This single cable provides sufficient power as well.
I instantly bought one and now I always travel with it. It’s completely changed the way I work remotely.
Having two screens allows me to display my emails and calendars on one screen, and my main area of focus on the laptop screen.
They are quite reasonably priced, starting at a couple of hundreds of dollars.

If you work remotely, I highly recommend obtaining a portable monitor. I hope it’ll improve your life as much as it improved mine.
