Since the nonprofit industry is my specialization, I wanted to dive a little deeper into what’s happening with the new Nonprofit Cloud product (NPC).
Here’s what’s available today:
- All Sales & Service Cloud features
- Program Management: Nearly identical to Program Management Module (PMM)
- Case Management: Nearly identical to Nonprofit Case Management (NCCM)
- Accounting Subledger: This is the growth edition, which is the higher priced SKU previously not a financial viable option for nonprofits
- Common components: Including form builder, decision & matching engine, rollup engine, milestone planner, visual timelines and visual relationships
These are all included in a single SKU. Pricing is $0 for the first 10 user licenses and $60 USD/user/month for the 11th license onward.
Coming in July, 2023:
- Grantmaking: This is for outbound grants and will be another SKU, as an add-on to the Nonprofit Cloud SKU
Coming in Oct, 2023:
- Fundraising: The data model is still to be announced
- Outcome Management: This means program outcomes. Personal outcomes will follow
What wasn’t mentioned is volunteer management, and that’s not currently on the roadmap for this year. Perhaps in 2024.
Person Accounts (PA) are favored but not necessary. There is a junction object to build relationships between PAs, to support a kind of households, and there will be more functionality related to household coming soon. It’s also possible to continue using household accounts and contacts. To implement this, custom automation is needed to update households and household members (for now).
The takeaway
Lots of interesting news in the nonprofit space. Also, keep in mind that ISV partners who currently require NPSP (like me) will need to build another version of their app for the Nonprofit Cloud. And that will take a considerable amount of time.
