By now, most of you are aware that TrailblazerDX 2023 is currently underway. This three day conference focuses on Salesforce technical developments. The target audience are developers and architects, although all disciplines can benefit from learning what the “shiny new tools” look like.

Yesterday the big announcement was about Einstein GPT. This new tool integrates Chat GPT’s AI into Einstein, empowering you to do all kinds of cool things such as

  • Generate sales emails and schedule meetings
  • Generate service knowledge articles
  • Generate personalized marketing content
  • Generate apex code and test classes for you

On that last point, you should really check out live videos of test class generation in action; it’s a sight of beauty.

Given this announcement, what’s my take?

Firstly, AI is another tool you should add to your toolbelt. The general consensus is that AI won’t replace us (yet), but consultants using AI will replace consultants not using AI. So if you’ve delayed using AI, now is the time to jump in.

Secondly, just like other tech and tools, AI is meant to augment your skills. It can automate basic tasks so you can focus on the ones that need your attention. You could see it as a personal assistant, organizing some of the more annoying details of your work.

Lastly, it’s not going to replace your soft skills. Communicating with clients, negotiating, discovering their roadblocks and unlocking them. These are skills you should be constantly developing and leaning into.

The takeaway
Make AI work for you. Leverage its power to do some of the heavily lifting or more tedious tasks so you can focus on the real value-added services.
