Yesterday I had a brief meeting with a podcast host. The meeting was to discuss which topics I would talk about on their show.
It’s a show about people during Salesforce careers, and the host and his partner have had many brilliant guest speakers.
Aside from talking about fixed pricing, I also love talking about being a digital nomad. For me, this means being in Canada for the best part of the year, and being in Spain during its best part. It’s the best of both worlds!
There aren’t too many careers in which this lifestyle is possible. Salesforce happens to be one of them. Sure, more and more companies want their employees to be on site. But there are plenty of opportunities in which that’s not the case.
So I took the meeting on my mobile, while walking along the boardwalk next to the beach. It was 22C (71F), and I was wearing a t-shirt and shorts. Meanwhile in Canada, it was significantly colder and there was a large snowfall the night before.
It’s a tough life, but SOMEONE has to do it. That someone can be you too.
The takeaway
Whether you’re able to live in two places a year, or escape your everyday surroundings once for just a month, seize the opportunity! Life is short and awesome when you make the most of it.
