Long-term readers of these emails know I’m usually very scheduled with them. 99% of the time, you’ll find an email in your inbox, every weekday at 7am EST.
I lapsed a little in early Dec, and took a longer break than normal over the holidays. And since then, I’ve been pretty regular, except for Fridays. This email is a perfect example.
That’s because I lean back a little on Fridays, and take my foot off the pedal. I believe it’s important to this, because why burn yourself out?
Creating space in your work life isn’t always easy. You often can feel you’re in that hamster wheel, running in circles and within endless projects.
But the importance of not creating space will find its way to you.
I’ve noticed that when I don’t learn a life lesson once, it usually comes back much stronger the second time. And then it’s pretty impossible to ignore.
So to end this week, my advice is to take notice of these lessons the first time. Create moments of space, even if only to stretch while at your desk. And pause occasionally to enjoy the moment during working hours.
The takeaway
To enjoy the time spent working, it helps to pause and observe the moment. It’ll slow the pace of life a little, and with any luck, you’ll enjoy yourself a little more.
