An author for one of the newsletters I read was recently accused of using AI to write content. The author asked for readers’ opinions.

Here was my response:

As long as the content is useful, who really cares who wrote it?

And if it’s slop (i.e. low-quality, mass-produced content), it doesn’t really matter whether AI or a human wrote it.

Now it’s my turn to ask you, dear reader. Does it really matter if X was created by AI or a human? As long as it’s valuable, useful, or interesting, my take is that it doesn’t really matter. But I’m curious to know your thoughts.

The takeaway
In the very near future, it’ll be VERY challenging to tell whether something was produced by a human or by AI. We need a better value metric than simply looking at the creator.
