As a human being and a Salesforce consultant, it’s sometimes challenging not to be emotional.
A demanding client, a stressful project, frustrating developers. The list of possible aggravations doesn’t end.
Most often, these emotional moments and your reactions to them won’t help you. They may actually hinder you, causing you to retaliate or lash out in some way.
A possible solution to this reactive state is stoicism. Stoicism is a philosophy that aims to encourage resilience, happiness, virtue, and wisdom, and can lead to a more fulfilling life.
It allows you to accept the current situation as it is, and distance yourself from it so that it doesn’t overwhelm you.
There are a few exercises you can do on a regular basis to cultivate your stoicism
- Zoom out and look at things from a higher perspective
- Journal to allow self-examination
- Medidate to listen to your mind
The takeaway
Being stoic is a great solution to a problem we all face daily.
