There are three apps that I rely on for everyday work.

The 1st is Workona, which is a Chrome extension. It allows me to create a space for each client. So if I’m working on Client A’s project, and need to quickly switch to Client’s B’s project, it takes me two clicks. It opens all of Client’s B’s tabs in the current window. Then I can return to Client A with another two clicks, and resume working with the exact same tabs as when I left.

The 2nd is Calendly. This is a great resource to allow your clients to view your availability and book your time. I have multiple event types for clients, podcast guests, app demos, and coaching students.

Now, instead of sharing the calendly link, I’ve embedded the calendars into my websites. This allows me to change the scheduling app without having to reshare all the links. I also prefer using my branding over calendly’s.

The 3rd is UpNote. I wanted a free (or nearly free) note-taking application that was available as a Windows app, a web app, and a mobile app. Evernote was my go-to note taker, until they lowered their quality. So now I use UpNote, which costs $1.50 a month.

The app contains all notes for everything in my life. The top level is for clients, home stuff, work stuff, and personal stuff. Each level has multiple sub-levels.

The takeaway
Lots of apps have multiple purposes. For example, Workona also has note-taking capabilities. Consider which apps are important to use, and don’t be afraid to experiment to see which works best for you.
