In an email last week, I wrote, “Heck, I wouldn’t be surprised if Salesforce changes all of their products to include “Agentforce” (“Agentforce Sales Cloud”, “Agentforce Slack”, etc.)”
Well, this is actually happening!
Although there wasn’t an official announcement, Salesforce has quietly renamed their cloud products to include the word Agentforce.
- Sales Cloud –> Agentforce Sales
- Service Cloud –> Agentforce Service
- Nonprofit Cloud –> Agentforce Nonprofit
- Field Service –> Agentforce Field Service
Don’t believe me? Just visit https://www.salesforce.com/ca/sales/ and you’ll see “Agentforce Sales (formerly Sales Cloud)” in small writing at the top left of the page.
As I understand it, they are moving from Agentforce as a product to Agentforce as a platform.
So when you purchase Agentforce Sales, do you actually get Agentforce? Nope. That’s an extra charge!
I believe this is tone-deaf approach to increasing user adoption. Since only 5% of their customers are actually using Agentforce, Salesforce is applying heavy-headed marketing techniques to push this further.
The takeaway
An easy prediction is that Salesforce the product will be renamed to Agentforce. Then the assimilation will be complete. Resistance is futile.
