For the last year, I’ve been using Gemini Pro. This is because it was a free subscription for a year with the purchase of my mobile phone.
I’ve mostly used it to code my Salesforce app, and it’s been good enough to get the job done. This week, however, it took for me a design loop that cost multiple hours.
In frustration, I even cursed it.
So I decided to try Claude Code. And wow, just wow. The difference was immediate and significant.
It resolved the same design issue within minutes. Then it built the design and wrote the related knowledge base article.
Yesterday I went down a rabbit hole of development. I built 8 features in one day. With Gemini, I could do 2 or 3 at most.
Important caveats to mention:
- I have a development background, so I can (mostly) validate its work
- Most of my codebase was written by a senior developer, so the AI just follows their coding patterns
However, nearly every time, Claude gets things right the first time.
Until this week, I thought I was using AI properly. I had no idea was I was missing.
The takeaway
With the proper AI, I cannot imagine a scenario in which I need a human developer anymore.
