Having a connection in common is crazy effective, as it effectively eliminates uncertainty. It works the same socially and professionally.
Sidenote: I believe the best way to meet your significant other is through a mutual friend.
It comes down to trust. We are happy to shortcut into a relationship when both parties trust the person making the introduction.
Why take endless amounts of time to sort through a long list of candidates when someone can hand deliver a “good enough” match?
This means while you’re building your professional reputation, be sure to make friends along the way. You never know when that friend might introduce you to a new client sometime down the road.
