Yesterday and today were the True North Dreamin’ conference in Toronto, Ontario. While I didn’t ask how many attended, it felt larger and more organized compared to last year.
As the first official sponsor, we had first choice of booth location. This allowed us to chat and demo Dryad Receipting for Salesforce to several qualified leads and potential new partners.
It also allowed us to enroll in the demo jam. The demo jam is a 3 minute live product demo in front of all attendees. 6 teams presented and the attendees voted on their favourite.
Some presenters read clever scripts, while others ran out of time. My colleague and I agreed on an overall structure but improvised the majority. This resulted in bad timing which ultimately led to a funny moment.
It was wonderful to meet people I’ve only seen on a computer screen. It was wonderful to reconnect with good people whom I haven’t seen in years. It was wonderful to meet fellow readers of these emails.

The takeaway
For me, the main takeaway from the event was a sense of community. Whatever happens to the mothership, the Salesforce community is still alive and well.
