Have you ever imagined doing client work while relaxing on a recliner on a sandy beach?

This fantasy doesn’t need to stay in your head. I’ve done it, and it’s … wonderful. Just make sure the sand stays away from your laptop and your mobile is fully charged to provide a Wi-Fi hotspot for a long time 🙂

With those rules in mind, the next step is to pick the best coastal city. And since I love Europe, let’s see what our best options are over there.

As more and more countries offer digital nomad visas, this list will keep growing over time. As of today, here are some top picks according to a recent Euronews article:

1. Alicante, Spain
If you’ve been reading my emails for longer than a week, you’ll know I have a thing for Spain. Alicante is surrounded by some of the country’s most beautiful beaches. It’s also between the Mediterranean Sea and the mountains, which means you’ll have the best of both worlds – whether you want to lounge in the sun or go trekking.

2. Split, Croatia
This is one of the best options for nomads on a budget, although it can be more pricey in the summer months. It’s also relatively close to Dubrovnik (where they filmed Game of Thrones) and it’s super easy to catch a ferry to one of the many gorgeous small islands.

3. Chania, Greece
This town on the west side of Crete doesn’t have much variation in the weather, which means you can bet on sunny days most of the year. It also has surprisingly fast internet speeds and is easily accessible from all major airports around Europe. And it’s a Greek island!

4. Sliema, Malta
Gorgeous sea views, superb scuba diving and snorkeling on the weekends, and an extensive digital nomad community. I haven’t been here yet, but Malta is definitely on my short list.

5. Shkodër, Albania
While a most people choose to stay in the capital city of Albania, ShkodĂ«r is a lot more laid back and chilled. Apartments are super affordable and it’s close to a wealth of beautiful nature sites. I also saw Albania as a more exotic location, where adventure awaits.

The takeaway
This email is to get you salivating for the concept. Whether you choose the beach around the corner from home or halfway across the world, working with your feet in the sand is something we should all experience.
