In speaking with a nonprofit client today, they asked about all the options available for Salesforce’s upcoming MFA rules.
As you may know, nonprofits are notorious for sharing user logins. This is because they often have volunteers that use the same login one-at-a-time.
So I built this flowchart that may help you.

Regarding step:
- This is the standard Salesforce Authenticator app for your mobile device.
- Ente Auth is a free, open-source application that allows users to share MFA tokens.
- Bitwarden, 1Password, Dashlane, LastPass, Keeper, and NordPass are all password managers that comply with the stricter rules. They also allow you to log in to SF from any computer with your password manager installed.
- All of these password managers should also allow you to store the user name, password, and keypass in a shared folder. This allows multiple users to share credentials.
The takeaway
Using a keypass is actually faster than using the Salesforce Authenticator app.
