A while back, I stopped using Google for general searches.
Google is still used for straightforward things, such as
- “Salesforce datatable options”
- “Population of Milan”
- “100 Euro to CAD”
However for most other things, I’ve been using AI. And as a Salesforce consultant, what matters are the responses.
For example, a recent prompt was, “Who are some of the best independent Salesforce consultants that specialize in nonprofits in Canada?” Interestingly, my name appeared in the top results.
I don’t exactly know why, but I suspect it has to do with all the content I’ve produced over the years. This includes
- The “Good Enough” Consultant website
- Dryad Consulting website
- LinkedIn posts
The takeaway
The current sentiment is that people trust AI search results more than Google search results. So for which prompt do you want your name to appear?
